Every meal is freshly prepared in Somerset using quality ingredients and delivered hot and ready to enjoy, with the same care and attention that we'd expect for our own family.
Our Story
The Wells Kitchen was founded by James Honess. James began his working life as a chef and restaurant owner, then a primary school teacher before moving into school catering, where he discovered a real passion for preparing nutritious, freshly cooked meals on a large scale.
Today, through The Fabulous Lunch Company, James and his team prepare thousands of meals every week for local schools across Somerset.
That experience has shaped everything we do.
It has taught us the importance of consistency, quality, food safety and, most importantly, listening to the people we cook for.
The Wells Kitchen was created to bring those same values into people's homes.
Why We Started
Like many good ideas, The Wells Kitchen has evolved through conversations with local people.
We found that many customers weren't looking for takeaway food or supermarket ready meals. They simply wanted freshly prepared, homemade meals they could enjoy throughout the week without the shopping, cooking and washing up.
Some were busy professionals.
Some were caring for elderly parents.
Some were recovering from illness.
Others simply wanted the reassurance of knowing that a freshly prepared hot meal would arrive at their door each day.
So we created a service that focuses on exactly that—proper homemade food, delivered.
Our Philosophy
We believe homemade food should be simple, comforting and full of flavour.
Our menus are inspired by the meals many of us grew up enjoying, prepared using quality ingredients and cooked with care.
Every dish is freshly prepared in our Somerset kitchen before being delivered hot, ready to eat and enjoy.
Our aim isn't to produce hundreds of different dishes.
It's to prepare a carefully selected menu that changes regularly and that people genuinely look forward to eating.
